The latest bollywood news is that the Rock On Guy and the Tashan babe are all set to scorch the big screen as they have been signed by Sudhir Mishra to play the leads in his next flick. The film will be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s company and deals with the political angle in the relationship between a man and a woman.

Farhan says, “I’m looking forward to working with Kareena. She’s been a friend for many years. This script gives both of us a chance to try something we haven’t done before. We are in the process of finalising the deal.” Farhan thinks that the duo will look good on screen and reveals that Kareena has “a role to die for. It’s a hugely fascinating part. When Sudhir Mishra narrated the script I liked it immediately.”

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE WINS BEST PICTURE AT THE 81ST ACADEMY AWARDS AND HEATH LEDGER FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Congratulations to SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE for

receiving the best picture and best director Oscars at the 81st Academy Awards
held today. Well done, Danny Boyle. To think that this movie was going
straight to DVDs cos it had problems with distribution!!! What a sacrilege if
it had.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won eight of
them, the most for any film for that year. It also won five Critics' Choice
Awards, four Golden Globes, and seven BAFTA Awards, including Best Film.

A very special congrats to the Indian Film Industry too, with two of its
prodigies, Resul Pookutty and AR Rahman, bagging three awards at the ceremony.
The awards are the first for the Indian Film Industry.

AR Rahman, the composer of the soundtrack of the movie, took home two golden
statuettes, and Resul Pookutty, the Bollywood sound engineer, one, as part of
the winning sound mixing team.

The star for India was definitely AR Rahman, known as the Mozart of Madras,
who picked up the Oscar for best original score before scooping the best song
award moments later.

He was nominated for two songs under the best song category - Oh Saaya and Jai
Ho, which he sang during the Oscar ceremony. Jai Ho took home the coverted

A.R.Rahman has made it to the OScars. Finally global recognition for Rahman.

A R Rahman has won Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire(Best Original Music Score).
The second Oscar award for best original sound track Jai Ho from Slumdog
Millionaire. Lyricist Gulzar has also won Oscar for best lyrics for the song
'Jai Ho'. So Slumdog Millionaire is such a lucky movie for him. Rahman !! we
are all so proud of you today.

Recently, after the rift with India, Pakistan decided ban the release of Indian films. But they recalled their ban and paved way for the release of Ghajini. And Ghajini is doing tremendously well in Pakistan. The film is running housefull in major cities like Lahore and Karachi. This has made clear that a quality film especially that has a brand power will do well irrespective of the borders.

Shahrukh Khan to name his dog Aamir Khan?

The cold vibes between Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan have been witnessed by many since many years and both of them keep on cracking comments and jokes at each other whenever they get a chance.

Aamir received wrath of many when he called his dog Shahrukh Khan on his blog, however Shahrukh Khan kept mum during the whole episode, but now he is back with revenge as he is joked that he wants to name his dog Aamir. SRK said, “Gauri gets upset when I crack jokes about naming my dog Aamir Khan. She thinks why should I bring myself down by doing or saying such things? I understand that she doesn’t want me to lose my dignity, but sometimes I think it is absolutely necessary as people ask for it.” He goes on to explain, “Aamir had said it was a joke that his dog was named after me… and I said if it was a matter of [a] sense of humor, then my joke would have been that I also wanted to name my pets after Aamir, but my pets vehemently refused. My wife said people don’t understand your jokes, so please refrain from doing so… though I felt it was quite funny but I didn’t say it at that time. Nobody said anything about stooping low, etc. Stooping low would be a height joke.” Shahrukh Khan also expressed his views on Aamir being against of Shahrukh Khan being number one, “I will confront Aamir and ask him why he said such a thing. I accept a lot of things, but I think this is not funny. When I say I am number one, I definitely don’t mean it in arrogance. I say it with a sense of humor and a sense of humility. But I guess it will take a lot for Aamir to understand that.”

A week after an alleged violent incident with Rihanna the night before the Grammy Awards, Chris Brown has spoken out."Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," he said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."
With dozens of differing reports on the details of Brown's alleged assault on Rihanna running wild this week, the "Kiss Kiss" singer said many of them were false.
"Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong," he continued. "While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
Brown is under investigation by the LAPD for felony criminal threat and allegedly bit and hit Rihanna , who is currently home in Barbados, according to People.
Access has learned that Brown has hired public relations firm Sitrick and Company, who sent the statement. According to its Web site, the company has represented Kim Basinger , Michael Vick, Wesley Snipes and Toni Braxton , among others.
