Writer-and-director Sanjay Chhel is making a film on the lives of people associated with the Hindi film industry. However, what's interesting is that the film will be a comic take on the relationships people within the industry share with each other.
Titled Fantastic, the film will have Sanjay's personal and funny impressions that he has garnered while working in the glamour world. It is also expected to unmask how the industry truly works through situational comedy with a pinch of satire.
Sources say Sanjay might approach the top three Khans in Bollywood -- Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh -- to make guest appearances in the film. If it happens it will be a coup of sorts as the three leading actors have never come together for a film, even if it's for a cameo.
"I will approach them to play themselves. I am looking at other actors too. I do have to show the stars and people really associated with Bollywood in the film to give it an authentic feel. I'm going to approach many people to play cameos," says Sanjay.
Though Sanjay is gung-ho about the project, his wings could get clipped with the production house looking to chop around Rs3 crore from the film's total budget of around Rs10 crore due to recession.
Sanjay says: "I have been communicated that my budget will shrink by around 30 per cent due to market conditions. One can't say much about this as it's a bad market we are working in."
